Terms of Use
Last updated: July 15, 2026
These terms govern your use of the Silverback app. By installing or using the app, you agree to these terms.
What the app is
Silverback is a digital wellbeing tool that helps you notice, limit, and — when needed — block short-video scrolling (doomscrolling). It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice.
License
You may use the app under a limited, non-transferable, revocable license for your personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to reverse engineer, copy, or redistribute the app without permission.
Acceptable use
- Do not use the app for any unlawful purpose.
- Do not use battle and challenge features to harass others.
- Do not attempt to disrupt or breach the security of the service.
Blocking and accuracy
Blocking and counting rely on the accessibility service and platform behavior. We cannot guarantee that every short video is caught or blocked 100% of the time. Silverback is an awareness tool, not a substitute for your own self-control.
Brand and content
The “Silverback” name, logo, gorilla mascot, and app content belong to us and are protected by copyright and trademark.
Third parties
The app is distributed through Google Play and uses Google Play Services. Google’s applicable terms also apply.
Disclaimer and liability
The app is provided “as is.” To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages or losses arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app.
Termination
We may end your access if you violate these terms. You can uninstall the app at any time.
Changes
We may update these terms; the current date is shown on this page.
